This crashed and burned with inactivity on the TNPGU forums, so, I'll start it up here, instead! Hopefully, pikaby, our previous agreements still stand... and I hope no one minds me posting this here.

Character Battles. I dunno about you, but I love 'em to death. Seeing who will win, who will lose, who's the best, who's the worst. And I'm proud to say I'll be hosting my own!

I've been working on this baby for months now. The roster, the planning, everything. Trust me, it'll be awesome. 64 Characters, primarily from Nintendo Consoles, starting with 1v1v1v1 and eventually becoming 1v1. I intend for it to be combat-based, but... hey, vote however you want, I don't care. I'm going to treat it as "vote for who you think would win," though. Images detailing the individual matches will be done by the always-talented Pikaby, and a poll will be uploaded every day for a total of 31 days - that's right, a full month of matches, to be concluded a few days before Christmas. IT. WILL. KICK. ASS.

...but first, the community at large needs to decide some things.

First of all, five people will be given the choice of a single character addition. I ask you to PM me with a nomination list of FIVE members of this forum; whoever gets the most will get first choice, second gets second, etc.

But, for everyone else, there are a few characters I'd like to see some votes for. Mostly 3rd Party Characters, but, still, yeah. Copy, paste, and post your choices, 'kay?

  • RED from Pokemon will be a character included, with a team of three Pokemon. What STARTER POKEMON should he use - Venusaur, Charizard, or Blastoise?
  • A MAIN HERO and MAIN VILLAIN from Final Fantasy will be included. Which MAIN SERIES GAME should they be from?
  • MEGA MAN will be included, with an arsenal from a single game. Which ORIGINAL SERIES GAME should his arsenal be from?
  • Other than Ryu, a single STREET FIGHTER CHARACTER will be included. WHICH FIGHTER, from any game, should this be?
  • ANOTHER CAPCOM CHARACTER will be included. WHICH CHARACTER, from any game other than Mega Man or Steet Figther, should this be?
  • A SOULCALIBUR FIGHTER will be included. WHICH CHARACTER should this be?
  • THE MAIN HERO and MAIN VILLAIN from a Sony or Microsoft game will be included. WHICH GAME should they be from?

Choose wisely. You have about a week to cast your votes. Or more. It depends on my mood.

...why? You don't nominate characters, you nominate forum-goers, who, in turn, will choose the characters.

The only problem in the list I provided was already covered - Ryu.

I won't be able to finish for another week or so. Things like this take time. Guess the pressure's piling up, I'd better hurry.

EDIT: johnny, you still want the character battle template I made ages ago but you never used? I still have it if you want.

  • Uhh... Blastoise!
  • Cloud and Sephiroth, duh.
  • Mega Man VI is my favorite, so, that one.
  • Dhalsim for the win.
  • MORRIGAN FROM DARKSTALKERS!
  • Nightmare.
  • Uhh... Jak and Daxter, I guess.

Alright, at the end of today (meaning Sunday, March 1st in case you're and idiot) I'll start sending out the "chooser" PMs. So, get your last posts in, and by the end of the week I'll probably be ready. And, as a whole, the Character Battle will start in a week or two. Or three. Depends on how long the art and scheduling takes, honestly.

Are you hyped? I'm pretty hyped.
