This is exciting news. Johto was easily the best generation of all, and for it to finally be remade, well, that's awesome. I haven't played Crystal in five years. ;_; Time for old school. I must capture all of my favorites! Considering Johto>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Sinnoh, I'll probably end up transferring my Platinum team over. Or not. The new Pokemon are ugly piles of ****.

Also, the same guy who leaked this about a week ago on NeoGaf said Nintendo is announcing a new Wii Pokemon game at E3 that will be compatible with these games and D/P/P.

Wait, no I didn't. I'm going to wait for more details - looking back, Johto REALLY pales in comparison the newer generations, so unless they give it an overhaul as far as Kanto and Pokemon distribution goes, I'm not buying it.

YES! YES YES YES YES YES! More interesting breeding is the NUMBER ONE thing I've wanted out of Pokemon. I actually made a post about it on another site a while ago; I'll copypasta...

I like the idea of Hybrid Pokemon in theory, but, really, it would take a lot of work to balance it out.

To be honest, I'd LOVE more in-depth Pokemon genetics. Give them pedigrees! A seventh-generation, pure-blooded Pichu should get a boost to Electric-Type attacks that a mutt from a Raichu/Machop pairing wouldn't. But maybe that would do something. Give resistance. Have types mix and mottle.

For example, again - you breed a Pikachu with a Machop. The baby Pichu produced evolves and you breed it with another Machop. This goes on for a few generations and suddenly - your Pikachu now gets STAB for Fighting attacks! But maybe it's also gained a slight weakness to Psychic attacks. And perhaps - this being on the next handheld which, hopefully, gives room for a lot of sprites - it has a different color to it. A slight grey tint, so to speak. And over time, maybe it'll be able to learn new attacks! Maybe it'll become so far removed it'll cease to BE a Pikachu!

Hybrids would be interesting, too, though - Manaphy gives birth to a Phione, which is a different Pokemon entirely. Mix Jynx and Mr. Mime and you won't get Smoochum OR Mime Jr. - you'll get something in between, something that can evolve into Mr. Mime, Jynx, or a third Pokemon.

And mutations! Instead of two Pikachu making a Pichu, maybe it'll come out as a Plusle! Pokemon in close breeding groups could have crossovers; Bulbasaurs may produce a Treecko! Butterfree gives birth to Wurmple!

I mean, a wall of text - if the words were bricks, would form a wall. If my post were to turn into a wall it would be full of holes and as such be useless in virtually all circumstances. A large AMOUNT of text isn't necessarily a WALL of text. A wall of text is difficult to read because our peabrains can't differenciate between words when they're all squeezed together!
