Close between Chikorita - who is absolutely ADORABLE - and Totodile - because I had some good times with him back in the day. But I went with Chikorita, because I'm picking her for GSDS and feminine starters are rare.

GS was the only generation which I had to actually choose a Pokemon to learn Surf because my starter wasn't a Water type :P

Rhydon. I avoid Pokemon with quadruple weaknesses like the plague. Unless they have some redeeming qualities, like awesome stats(Garchomp, Gyarados), or cute looks(Jumpluff)

Scizor, Vaporeon and Typhlosion are good(Typhlosion does have quite a limited moveset in that generation, but can't be helped I guess.) You have two Pokemon weak to Lightning, two to Water, two to Grass, two to Fighting. Quite balanced, but Rhydon and Noctowl need to be swapped out.
