Have you caught up with the plans? We're focusing on the "our forums rock" aspect and leaving everything else behind. We're uploading YouTube trailers/videos, and twittering, and... I think something with Facebook...

But, yeah, we're moving away from "Kirby fansite" and more towards "Nintendo/general awesome forums."

Kirby 5 Star sounds very... not general enough. We need a new theme, new site, and new name. We need a fresh start. I love Kirby, but we HAVE to do this. I have tons of friends who would join a forum, but aren't Kirby fans. =/

How did I miss this topic before? Anyway, some things:
Firstly, yes. Everything has gotten old, old, old. I probably wouldn't come here half as often as I do now if it weren't for THAT NIGHT: the movie. But that belongs in the random board.
As far as name changes go, if we expand to be a Nintendo forum or what have you, we need to reflect that in the name, but we also need to have a name that doesn't suck. For example: "Nintendo 5-Star". That sucks.
Lastly, I'm personally not attached to Sparklit whatsoever. The only reason we're here is because we NEEDED to leave GS for many reasons and none of us really knew anything about setting up a forum. So we only got a slight upgrade. In my opinion, moving to another host is not out of the question. We're going to be changing our name and our image anyway, and almost all of our active members are original GSers. It's actually the PERFECT time to relocate.

I'd say we start a forum (NOT Sparklit) and post there. And at the same time we open a Union with the same name as our new forum to pull in new members to the forum! Of cource, we have to be active in GS as well or no one will join!

I can see making a Union for advertising purposes, but I don't understand why we'd want to run an active union if we're going to have our own forum.

1. The old Kirby 5-Star in Gamespot is all but worthless. People join unions in Gamespot just for sh1ts and giggles. 99.9% of them don't intend to be active in whatever union they're in.

2. Well, since the old members are all dead, relocation would be a perfect idea. Craz, johnny, you guys should delay the Character Battle and User War until we set things straight. One of us should go back to Gamespot and look for potential members. One of us should continue tweeting and one of us should start the Facebook, we don't have that yet. All of us should pitch in on the Youtube videos and start a blog or something. Blogs get attention easier than forums, especially if you're constantly up-to-date with your posts.

Darn right. I'll do some asking around. Maybe I could get some pointers. DG, you'll be in charge of setting up a phpBB forum for us. If there's anything else, I can handle it. I don't feel like changing the banner('cept the name) or the background. It took me ages to do those.
....Okay, maybe I'll change the background. But it boils down to what I can customize for a phpBB. And Sparklit has always been a slow site for me, it's torturous.

I'm already planning to pause the Character Battle after this round, since there's only three matches left (not counting today's).

And I have some knowledge about how to work a forum - I've been around the block and have a small chunk of tech experience. So I could probably be a help there, if you need me.
