Actually, we should pause it right now and start from the beginning when DG gets phpBB running. Don't worry: I still kept all the pictures. It'd be much fairer with more members to vote next time. What say you? (and Kirby is not going to lose this time >:D)

Anyway, if the forums are going into hibernation, I'm actually relieved. Now I have time to finish everything I want to do first.
When I said 'how to run a forum' it wasn't about the technical aspects, it's about getting a lot of members. Maybe you could help by scouting out some popular forums and tell us how they got so good? Their secrets, techniques and ideas. I'm not going to imitate them, but it'll give us a good idea of what to look for when we innovate.

From the forums I've been to, there's three that really stand out in my mind besides this one. There's HeroScapers, which is popular because there's absolutely nowhere else to talk about HeroScape. Geek Zone is only a step ahead of here, because it has twice as many members, but is also mostly... inactive.

Toon Zone, however, is EXTREMELY popular, because... I dunno. It's been around for a decade, now, and has had time to build steam. It's not a free, dinky little site, either. But one of the biggest draws, I think, is the fact it's the forums for a bunch of different "main" sites.

There's the World's Finest, about DC cartoons (Batman and Such) - they have the DC Animation Forum. There's Marvel Animation Age, which has a Marvel Animation Forum. There was the X-Bridge Forum, which has Toonami stuff. There's the Entertainment Board, there's the Cafe, there's Nicktoons and [adult swim] and a bunch of topics for the website itself - which is now an official news company with, like, press badged and stuff. I feel so special as a mod on such a great site, really.

So... how do we draw from that? We should find blogs and sites and such that need a forum. Instead of branching out and creating Kirby 5-Star YouTube or Kirby 5-Star Twitter, we should find people that need a forum and have them all join up. Toadsie's started us, and I think it's a great idea, honestly.

I know, Nintendo-centric, of course, but... like, the Game Overthinker. He doesn't have a forum, but I'm sure a lot of people would want to talk about his ideas and such. We don't give him a forum, but we ask him to endorse us. Of course, we'll need some solid rules, ToS, all that - clean this **** up, if you know what I mean.

If we're going to expand, we need to stop being "a forum of friends" and start being a "community of people." Bottom line.

Pikaby, I already have a phpBB forum hosted. All thats left is for you to configure it, and there is a LOT to be configured. I'll give you a link tomorrow and you can tell me if the host has potential. I haven't done that much with it, so I'm not sure of everything that can or can't be done with the layout, but the forum itself is very capable.

Good. But I'm a bit busy, so we'll get the forum running first.

We have to be orderly and plan everything out this time. No more rushing.

I will handle all(okay, almost all, I can't do it alone :P) forum administration stuff. DG will be co-admin as usual. toadster will merge Brotherhood withh us and be our PR master.

I'll volunteer as a general handyman; ideas, mediocre mockups, an extra hand to build the forums (if you need one), and, to an extent, and advertiser.

I can get us paired with Geek Zone - not sure if it'll help but, why not - and maybe ask around for people who'd like to join.

This is the big leagues, people - we need to go in there with 110%. No more fun and games.

...also, I'll do the rules writeup if no one else has the time.

I can't participate in most of the weekly tournaments thing toadster mentioned, but having them would be a great help. He'll be in charge of the events then. johnny, you'll cook up a storm in the forums and help me think of other forum games, quizzes, Character Battles, etc.

Get us affiliated with as many forums or stuff as possible. Ask the Game Overthinker too(you mentioned that earlier).

I'll do the rules. The last time I asked you to write something, nothing came out of it :P You can help me edit and modify, however.
